Founded in 1972
We are a professional body mandated to promote Social welfare and development in Uganda and works closely with MGLSD.
National Association of Social Workers of Uganda (NASWU) is a fully subscribed member of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), an independent professional body working for the advancement of Social Work, and a registered National NGO in Uganda. It was founded in 1972 with a lot of enthusiasm from its members. The association brings together all Social Workers in Uganda into a vibrant professional body that contributes to better professional practice, better conditions of work for Social Workers and equitable national development and transformation.
The association exists to help members of the Social Work Profession make their full contribution to society and in the process, live respectable lives as individuals and members of the profession, guided by professional values and ethical principles.
